Building services company Skerritt has appointed Stuart Hill as its new managing director. He takes over from Les Francis who is now the company’s development director.
Stuart (46) has been with the Nottingham-based company since October 2001.
Over the last six months Stuart has been working closely with Les in preparation for the new role. Les has steered the company since the late 1990s, during which time he has turned Skerritt into a leading multi-disciplinary building services contractor.
Stuart said: “We have seen turnover grow to £28 million in 2006 and we have sustained that growth and are building on it. We have a five-year plan in place that aims to double the size of the business by 2010, not just in the East Midlands but across the country as a whole.
“I’m very much looking forward to driving the company onwards over the coming years.”
Skerritt specialises in mechanical, electrical and plumbing building services including property care and refurbishment services, often working as principal contractor with full responsibility for all installation and design requirements. It employs approximately 260 people and has a 2007 order book approaching £38m.
Up-to-date computerised design and drafting systems are used to allow direct input and transfer of information for efficient co-ordination with professionals and specialist contractors in the project team.
