Organisation & Resources
The Safety Organisation Structure and Safety Management Responsibilities sheet defines the key personnel with regards to Health & Safety. F. G. Skerritt Ltd employees are duly competent for their nominated work through a combination of qualifications, training, knowledge and experience. Adequate material, equipment, time and information resources are made available in accordance with the contract requirements.

Health & Safety / Environmental Plan
On receipt of a tender the Health & Safety requirements together with the pre-tender Health & Safety plan (if received) are reviewed. Due regard is given to the particular risks presented and our outline Health & Safety / Environmental plan is compiled.
On award of the contract our Health & Safety / Environmental plan is further developed and issued to our client or planning supervisors (if appointed) for review and acceptance prior to commencement on site.
Risk Control Arrangements
We have a systematic management approach on projects from tender to completion. Our risk control arrangements identify hazards and, where possible, these are eliminated. Remaining risks are reduced and controlled.

Site Safety Inductions
Operatives and visitors on first arrival on site are given a site safety induction covering the following:
- Site rules
- Emergency procedures
- Site fire plan
- Client rules
- Hazards on site

- Insurance
- Safety policy
- Visitors
Site Safety
It is our objective that all work undertaken be carried out with the minimum risk to Health & Safety. Activities are carried out with knowledge and awareness of hazards involved and likely to be encountered, and the means employed to eliminate or reduce the risks presented from the hazards.
Safety inspections are carried out throughout the duration of the contract and are recorded on our site safety reports, with any areas requiring attention being actioned expediently.
Health & Safety in Design
Due regard is given to Health & Safety in our design by design risk assessments being compiled. Design information is issued and reviewed by appropriate parties in accordance with the tender or contract requirements.
Health & Safety Training
We have a structured approach to Health & Safety training. The training needs of individuals are assessed to ensue they are competent to fulfil the roles and tasks they are required to perform as part of their position. Any shortfalls in training needs are included in the Company training programme.
