Substances Hazardous to the Environment
Certain substances and chemicals which are hazardous to the environment, when identified, are used and disposed of in accordance with the COSHH data sheet / assessment. Other substances, if encountered, such as:
- PCBs (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) - Found in old electrical capacitors and other Power factor correction equipment.

are dealt with in accordance with legislative requirements. Where we involve licensed waste carriers, we may seek their advice with regards to the disposal of the waste.
Pesticides
Used for site clearance. If we feel any of the waste we produce is hazardous to the environment, we will seek advice on its disposal with a specialist, licensed waste carrier.
Waste Management
Only licensed companies / persons are used by the Company to transport, treat and dispose of waste. These companies compile and issue waste transfer notes which track the waste from the producer to the disposal point.
Storage, Dispensing and Spillage Control of Hazardous Liquids
These liquids, if used, are stored in secure locations, ideally away from surface drains and watercourses etc
Consideration is given to storing quantities from 25 litres to 205 litres and above in an appropriate bund, which is capable of containing 110% of the total volume of liquid being, stored.
When dispensing liquids, suitable funnels or pumps are used for descanting liquids. These significantly reduce the likelihood of spillage. Spill kits appropriate for the liquids are used for any accidental spillage.
