Summary

This contract involved the construction of twelve cell blocks comprising a total of 1392 cells with toilet and washing facilities and ancillary servery, communal laundry, staff areas and external services. Our factory-built installation consisted of the design and supply of the heating, hot and cold water, fire main distribution, sanitary ware, soil and waste installations, mechanical supply and extract ducted ventilation, external water and gas mains and associated plant and equipment.

The cell blocks arranged in two 2-storey wings each containing on average 60 inmate cells with a laundry, servery, TV / association, shower and day rooms. The two cell wings are separated by a centre section which consists of staff offices, medical room and control room.

All exposed fixings and equipment were of an anti-vandal nature in inmate areas.

Within the roof void plant room is the boiler plant and gas fired HWS generators. We also aided in the development and design of a unique \'safe cell\' environment with our own design of sanitary ware and services to incorporate into the cell blocks when required.
