Summary

Supply, installation and commissioning of a new sludge de-watering system.

The works comprise two de-watering lines each having a macerator, feed pump, centrifuge, automatic polyelectrolyte system and sludge cake conveyor to an automated trailer loading system.

A new motor control centre has been installed with PLC control to the whole system.

All associated electrical cabling has been carried out, including external lighting.

Capital plant comprises two centrifuges, two macerators and progressive cavity pump sets, polyelectrolyte mixing and dosing system, two spiral conveyors and a packaged water booster set.

Civil engineering works comprise the modifications to convert the existing Press House to receive the de-watering plant, provision of a concreted sludge cake storage area, approximately 60m x 45m, provision of pumping chambers for feed pumps, provision of concrete trailer area, provision of a skip bay and loading facilities for screenings and grit. External trenches etc. for services and the demolition of an existing digester and landscaping. A stainless steel splitter tank has been installed at the inlet works to control flow to the two inlet streams.
